Opening and closing ceremonies in Vilnius

The sixteenth A.P.P.L.E. summer started on July
3rd. with the
usual planting of an apple tree in the orchard in front of the PPRC
building in Vilnius. All opening ceremonies where conducted outside. Barbara Henriques, this summer's seminar's Program Director is giving her welcoming speach. She is flanked by representatives from the US Embassy PPRC director Mr. Rudzinskas and a representative of the Ministry of Education. On the far right is Karl Janowitz, A.P.P.L.E. president. |
